MacNeo ("we", "us") is an indie software project based in Seoul, Republic of Korea. We make small native macOS apps and distribute them through mac-neo.app. You can reach us at [email protected].

We are a sole-operator indie project. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA), we do not meet the thresholds defining a "covered business" — we are well below the $26.6M revenue floor and we do not process the personal information of 100,000+ California residents. We still try to follow the spirit of the law.

Nothing personally identifiable. Every MacNeo app — free or paid, Lite or Pro — runs entirely on your Mac. The apps do not phone home, do not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and do not transmit your behavior, files, screenshots, or input.

A handful of apps reach the public internet on your behalf for the feature you asked for (e.g. WeatherPet hits a weather API, VibeWall reads from Spotify if you connect it). Those requests carry only what is required for the feature itself, and the third party's privacy practices apply to that request — we link to them in the relevant app's settings.

The website is a static site fronted by Cloudflare and served from a Lightsail server. We do not run analytics on it. The infrastructure, however, naturally records technical request logs — typically your IP address, user-agent, the URL you hit, and a timestamp — for security, abuse mitigation, and basic uptime monitoring. These logs are kept short-term and are not joined to any identity or profile. We never sell or share them.

We do not set advertising cookies, do not use cross-site trackers, and do not embed Facebook, Google, TikTok, or similar pixels.

Free Mac apps are delivered through a single "MacNeo Lite Pack" checkout hosted by Lemon Squeezy. When you click Get Lite — Free, an overlay opens where you provide your email address and a name (you can use a nickname), pay $0, and Lemon Squeezy emails you the download links.

We use that email address only to (a) deliver your downloads, (b) reply if you ask us a question, and (c) — if you opt in at checkout — send you a short note when we ship a new app or major update. You can unsubscribe with one click from any email we send. We never sell, share, rent, or trade your email.

Lemon Squeezy stores the email in their own infrastructure as our processor. Their privacy practices are linked from the checkout page; in short, they hold the standard merchant-of-record information so they can issue receipts and remain compliant with tax authorities.

Paid Pro upgrades use the same Lemon Squeezy checkout, with the addition of payment details. Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record — they handle taxes (US sales tax, EU VAT, etc.), payments, and refunds. Your card details and billing address go to them, not us. We receive only what we need to honor the purchase: an opaque order ID, the email you used, and the country (for tax compliance).

If you email us, we keep that email so we can reply to you and so the next person doesn't have to ask the same question. We don't add you to a marketing list — we don't have one. Ask us to delete the thread any time and we will.

MacNeo is intended for users 13 years of age or older. We are not directed at children under 13 within the meaning of the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA): we use Gen Z and teen language, target the macOS desktop, and explicitly position our apps for the 13+ audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

If you believe a user under 13 has somehow provided us with personal information, please email [email protected] and we will delete it.

The only personal data we hold about you is the email you provided at checkout (and, if you opt in, your subscription preference). To exercise any of the rights below, email [email protected] from the email address you used at checkout, and we will respond within 30 days.

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to fix anything that is wrong.
• Deletion — ask us to delete your email and order history. (For paid Pro upgrades, this will void the license.)
• Unsubscribe — every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link.
• Portability — receive your data in a common format.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA / CPRA, or another local law. Email us and we will respond.

MacNeo is operated from Republic of Korea. By using our website or apps from another country, you understand that your request information will be processed on infrastructure located in Asia and the United States (Cloudflare edge plus our Lightsail server in Seoul). We do not transfer personal data in the GDPR sense, because we don't collect it.

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top and ship the new version with the site. Material changes will be flagged in the page header. Your continued use of MacNeo after a change means you accept the new policy.
