Terms of service.

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you and MacNeo ("we", "us"), an indie software project based in Seoul, Republic of Korea. They apply to mac-neo.app and to every macOS application we distribute under the MacNeo name (each, an "App"). By downloading, installing, or using an App, you accept these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

You must be at least 13 years of age to download or use a MacNeo App. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction (often 18, sometimes 19 or 20), you represent that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the App and to make any purchase on the site. We do not knowingly offer our services to anyone under 13.

Apps marked "Always free" and the "Lite" version of any Lite/Pro app are licensed to you under a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free license to install and use the App on macOS devices that you own or control, for as long as you wish, with no expiry, trial timer, or nag screen.

Free apps are currently delivered as the MacNeo Lite Pack via a Lemon Squeezy "$0 checkout" that captures your email. By completing that checkout, you also agree to receive the occasional update note from us (rarely; opt-in only when you tick the box at checkout; one-click unsubscribe from every email). Buying a Pro upgrade unlocks the additional features described on that App's product page. The Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase; we do not run subscriptions. The license is personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, and non-transferable. You may install and activate Pro on Macs that you own or control.

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, acting as the merchant of record. They handle taxes, payment processing, refunds, and chargebacks. Their terms and privacy policy apply to the checkout experience.

We offer a 14-day no-questions-asked refund on any Pro upgrade. If you bought Pro and changed your mind, email us at [email protected] within 14 days of purchase and we will refund the full amount. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion — typically granted for clear bugs we can't fix or features that were promised but never shipped.

Free apps and Lite tiers are, well, free, so the refund question doesn't apply.

You agree not to: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of an App, except to the extent that such restriction is expressly prohibited by applicable law; (b) resell, sublicense, rent, or lease an App or a Pro license; (c) remove or alter copyright, trademark, or license notices; (d) use an App in a way that breaks the law or somebody else's rights; or (e) use the website or App to harass, defame, or harm another person.

We may release updates to the Apps from time to time, including bug fixes, new features, and security patches. Updates are free, including for Pro license holders. We may stop releasing updates for an App at any time, but your existing license to use the latest installed version continues.

Some Apps optionally integrate with third-party services such as Spotify (VibeWall) or weather data providers (WeatherPet). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, behavior, or content of third-party services.

The Apps and the website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MacNeo will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Apps or the website. Our total liability under these Terms is capped at the greater of (i) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (ii) USD 50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability. In those places, the above only applies to the extent permitted.

You may stop using the Apps and uninstall them at any time. We may terminate or suspend your license if you breach these Terms. The sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (limitations of liability, governing law, refunds already made) survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the Apps will be brought exclusively in the courts located in Seoul, Republic of Korea, except that we both agree to first try to resolve the issue informally by emailing [email protected] for at least 30 days.

If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose laws give you stronger rights (for example, certain rights under EU consumer law or U.S. state laws), those rights remain available to you and these Terms do not waive them.

We may update these Terms occasionally. The effective date at the top will always reflect the latest version. Material changes will be flagged at the top of this page for at least 30 days. Continuing to use the Apps after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
